StarGateVR: Voice Command Reference

 Updated March 2026

Supported query patterns, examples, and tips for effective voice interaction.

Quick Enrichment Commands

These commands bypass AI processing entirely — they execute instantly at zero API cost. Say them exactly as shown:

Say This What Happens
Add X-ray Adds X-ray data (eROSITA)
Add UV Adds ultraviolet data (GALEX)
Add near-IR Adds near-infrared data (2MASS)
Add mid-IR Adds mid-infrared data (AllWISE)
Add infrared Adds both near-IR + mid-IR
Add full spectrum Adds all four databases (X-ray, UV, near-IR, mid-IR)

Important: say the exact phrase. Extra words cause the system to route through AI classification instead of direct execution.

Works:

  • “Add X-ray”
  • “Add UV”
  • “Add near-IR”

Won’t match (falls through to AI):

  • “Get X-ray data”
  • “Add X-ray data”
  • “Add near-infrared”

General Questions and Analysis

Anything that doesn’t match a quick command is handled by the AI assistant:

  • “What’s the diameter of the sun?”
  • “Explain red giants”
  • “Analyze this gate”
  • “Get me stars within 10 parsecs of Sirius”

These queries use GPT-4o-mini for classification and GPT-4o for reasoning. Typical latency: 3–6 seconds.

See the AI System Architecture page for details on the tiered model approach.

Cost Per Session

Quick enrichment commands: free (no AI processing).
AI-assisted queries: roughly $0.01–0.10 each depending on complexity.

A typical session with 10 enrichments and a few AI questions costs under $0.10.
